Great News!  Scottish Documentary Institute and Distrify have secured investment from Nesta’s Digital R&D fund to develop and pilot a portable funding tool for crowd-sourcing finance. Built on the distrify platform – soon to reach millions more via Facebook, the tool will “offer groundbreaking functionality such as instant digital rewards, flexible pricing, automated handling of community screenings, and pay-it-forward technology.”

From a personal point of view, the funding success marks a validation by external sources of the logic and projects piloted during my research at the ICC and a concrete development from that initial work. The collaboration between two longstanding partners is a great arrangement and I am sure will produce a very valuable market device.
