Wolfson College

A good portion of my work at CRASSH focussed on values and valuation and that research was also dependent on, and a massive beneficiary of, my position as a Visiting College Research Associate at Wolfson College.

Not only did I get to discuss ideas with College Fellow Dr Dempster – creator of the incredible Risk and Uncertainty in the Art World, but as a result I was also very kindly invited to join sessions of the Fifth Symposium of the Value-Based Approach Workshop and Conferences (in association with Glammons project). This has been hugely helpful in my research, and the combination of the arts programme at Wolfson, the ARB, and ArtSpace 5-7 made for a brilliant set of resources and experiences during my time at College, ones which provided important complementary counterpoints to the work on Filmed Entertainment Economics via Magdalene and Judge. Together with CRASSH this meant I was able to spend a huge amount of 2024 at Cambridge, and without that work and the incredibly generous contribution of time and thought of the wonderful people there, we would not have been able to get the Film Data Initiative proposal to the BFI in 2025 and up and running in 2026.
